Explore D.C. Day 1

With a couple days off in Baltimore I decided it was time to take The Marc (train) on an hour ride south to Washington D.C. I have never gotten to explore DC and to do it alone when I could reflect and do whatever I wanted was extremely enjoyable! Not that I wouldn’t have wanted to sightsee with any of you, but sometimes alone time is refreshing. (o wait… all my time is alone time) oops

well- I got on the train, checked in to my hotel, had a great and enlightening lunch with a friend in the Secret Service (to remain nameless – lol) then headed to Arlington National Cemetery. WOW it was the most breathtaking place I have ever been. Pictures do not do it justice. I made a couple key stops at the cemetery to the Jefferson’s’ tomb, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and walked for about an hour around the grounds.

Then I got some rest and headed on a Monument Tour at night- to hear our nations history, see all the monuments lit up was an amazing experience.
